The multidisciplinary collective represented by Denicolai & Provoost · Antoinette Jattiot · Nord · Speculoos and the giants and giantesses of Petticoat Government will stop off in Lille and Dunkirk for a series of festive moments. The events mark the final chapters in an ambitious scenario developed for the Belgian Pavilion at the 2024 Venice Biennale.
Petticoat Government is a “choral work” which echoes the art collective initiated by seven people, Sophie Boiron, Valentin Bollaert, Simona Denicolai, Pauline Fockedey, Pierre Huyghebaert, Antoinette Jattiot and Ivo Provoost. Together, they make up this multidisciplinary collective. At the intersection of art, curating, architecture, graphic design, typography and cartography, the collective adopted a non-hierarchical and collaborative approach for the Venice Biennale, the experimental method becoming an integral part of the finished work.
